Port Blair, March 15: CPI (M) has asked the Andaman & Nicobar Administration to explore the possibility of desalination of sea water to drinking water as has been done by the defence establishments in these islands, Lakshadweep Islands and at various cities on the mainland like Chennai to have a permanent solution to the drinking water crisis in Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

Port Blair, March 15: APWD Karmachari Sangh an affiliated association of Andaman Nicobar Rajya Karmachari Mahasangh (ANRKM), BMS has called Hunger Strike from 13th March 2023 at Tiranga Park for regularisation of DRMs. All the members of AKS and ANRKM first visited the statue of Mahatma Gandhi and garlanded the statue and proceeded to Tiranga Park to choose the path of Satyagraha as shown by Mahatma Gandhi.

To mark the day, the Department of CS&CA organized a function at TGCE Auditorium on the theme ‘Empowering consumers through clean energy transition’. The Commissioner-cum-Secretary (CS&CA), Smt. Nandini Paliwal, IAS was the chief guest on the occasion.
